Mosta Technopark thriving under self- management

At the official inauguration of the new CCTV Security system at the Mosta Technopark, the Minister for Economic Services, Prof. Josef Bonnici said that the tenants’ association at the Technopark can look back and sense the difference attained by all through self-management.

"Government has always insisted that self-management is the best tool through which pride and a sense of belonging are fostered to bring about a higher standard of results."

Prof. Bonnici added that the maintenance work such as the re-emulsion of facades, decorations, street furniture, and the parking bay system for better and disciplined parking management, has made this Park one of the most organised areas in Malta.

"That is why I am pleased to be here today, to inaugurate this Security System which uses the latest technology for the benefit of our entrepreneurs through an initiative taken by them." The Minister urged other Industrial Estates to take similar initiatives, as this is an excellent example of government’s policy on public-private partnership.

Mosta Technopark Tenants’ Association (MTTA) Chairman, Henry J. Borg, while addressing media representatives, added that following a very rigorous adjudication process, MTTA succeeded in getting the best possible terms from Datatrak – a Maltese company with international repute and one of its own members.

"In fact, what we’re inaugurating today is the first phase of a comprehensive CCTV security system covering the whole perimeter of the park, and as you can notice – it is a wireless system, thus keeping in mind the aesthetics of the Park."

He insisted that the tenants are paying directly for this service, and urged other Industrial Estates to follow suit. He concluded by saying, "We at MTTA are proud that our ‘home’, is the best-kept industrial area in Malta".
