Miss Bikini World 2002 for Bay Street

"The final of the Miss Bikini World 2002 contest will be held at Bay Street Hotel Complex on Saturday 26th October 2002. The event will be staged by Miss Tourism World Organisation, the largest producers of beauty pageants and modelling competitions in the world in conjunction with locally based Catwalk Productions International," Paul Chetcuti, Operations and Event Director of Catwalk Productions International, said.

Addressing the press conference, Bay Street Hotel General Manager Tony Coleiro said, "We are very proud to host such a prestigious event which will see the participation of around 44 participants from around the world. Moreover, we are even more proud to work hand in hand with a professional organisation such as Miss Tourism World Organisation whose vast experience brings them in touch with 117 different countries."

Mr Coleiro added that we have recognised a lot of potential in this event because it will be giving a lot of publicity to Malta as a tourist destination and as an ideal locality for hosting such prestigious events. "In fact, in line with Miss Tourism World Organisation’s efforts to promote tourism through the staging of beauty events, Miss Bikini World 2002 will be promoting Malta through a number of international television and radio stations who have expressed genuine interest in covering the event. These include UK’s E-channel, Italy’s Video Mediterraneo, Euro Med, Radio Sicilia and Radio Mediterraneo, Lens Television transmitting to USA and Canada as well as 22 Latin American countries and Turkey’s Fashion TV" added Mr Coleiro.

The final of the Miss Bikini World 2002 contest will see Maltese and Gozitan beauties modeling alongside other models from Argentina, Bulgaria, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Great Britian, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and the USA amongst many others.

The show is being sponsored by Bay Street Hotel Complex and will be hosted by well-known Martin Sapiano and Valerie Vella. Other sponsors include Air Malta, Malta Tourism Authority, di-ve.com, Kia Motors, The Malta Experience, Capital-88.7FM and NafNaf.
