Corinthia takes on new hotel management contract in Tunisia

Corinthia Hotels International yesterday announced the signing of a five-year hotel management agreement, with further optional periods of five years, for the operation of a brand new five-star hotel in Hammamet Sud, Tunisia as from February 2004.
This five-star Hotel, to be called Corinthia Alhambra Hotel, is in a prime location in Hammamet Sud, close to a vast sandy beach and an extensive 18-hole golf course. The five-star qualities of the hotel are amply reflected in its superb décor, as also its vast array of services and amenities. These include a total of 190 bedrooms, family rooms and suites, some with unimpaired sea views, four restaurants, four bars, a 250 square metre conference and banqueting hall, and a very impressive thalasso therapy centre.
The management contract was signed by CHI chairman Karmenu Vella and Business Development Director Paul Pisani for Corinthia Tunisie SARL - a Corinthia subsidiary company in Tunisia - and Mr T. Zahar for Relais Palais de Tunisie S. A. - the Tunisian hotel owning company. Also present for the signing was Corinthia Group executive board director Mr Joe Pisani.
"In Tunisia, Corinthia already successfully owns and operates a five star hotel in Gammarth, and we are now bringing the 'Spirit of Corinthia' to Hammamet as well," comments CHI chairman Karmenu Vella. "We are happy that the highly respected Tunisian company Relais Palais de Tunisie have chosen CHI to manage their luxurious property for them. This confidence in our brand spurns us on to seek further growth through maximum utilisation of our vast hotel management knowledge and experience, gained over forty years of operations of leading upscale hotels internationally."
Between now and February 2004, CHI will be conducting all necessary pre-opening activities in order to ensure that Corinthia's benchmarks - relating to professional personnel training and induction, sales, marketing and promotional activities, and hotel services and facilities - are in place prior to the hotel opening.
The Corinthia Alhambra Hotel is the 23rd hotel to offer the 'Spirit of Corinthia' hospitality in Belgium, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Libya, Malta, Portugal, Russia, The Gambia, Togo, Turkey and Tunisia. These all offer a genuine passion for hospitality that goes beyond mere service and efficiency, to a warmth of feeling, colour, and vitality that surprises, delights, and delivers more every day to its many customers worldwide.
