European 2000 Airlines is Malta’s third registered airline

European 2000 Airlines Limited is a Maltese Registered Company set up in conjunction with sister Corporations in the private charter and business aviation industry in the United States.
The main aim of the Company having its base in Malta is to be able to serve the international business community providing an ideal stepping-stone between Europe, the CIS and the Middle East. Most of the Company’s clients are businessmen involved in the oil, construction, hotel and service industries. It is also the Company’s aim to provide an Air Charter service between the various islands within the Mediterranean Sea which are not covered by direct scheduled commercial carriers unless connecting through mainland Europe and North Africa. The eventual aim is to fly in the neighbouring island’s travelers who would then be able to connect with the National and other Airline’s flights to Europe and the rest of the world.
The Company has purchased two Fairchild Metro 23 aircraft capable of carrying 19 passengers or 3800 pounds weight of cargo over a distance of 2000 miles at a still air speed of 330 miles per hour. This means a flight to Rome will take 1 hour 45 minutes and to London in approximately 3 hours 50 minutes. The aircraft have a service ceiling of 25, 000 feet which means that they are capable of flying over most of the bad weather within the area of operation. Both aircraft have executive interiors with serving gallies, in-flight audio and visual entertainment and a silver service offered by qualified flight attendants. A further service provided is an Air Ambulance and Medivac capability as the aircraft can, at short notice be reconfigured to carry 3 stretcher beds and transport 3 non-life critical patients and a 5 member Medical Team – a unique service for Europe.
European 2000 Airlines holds European Joint Airworthiness Authorities’ Air Operator’s certificate Number M-05 through the Malta Department of Civil Aviation. Reservations and ticketing are handled by European 2000 Airline Services Limited – a fully accredited Maltese travel agency and conference and incentive Tour Operator.

European 2000 Airlines has recently signed an accord with Scirocco World Travel, a well known tour operator in Sicily. The airline aims to start frequent charter services between Trapani airport and Malta. The first inaugural flight is scheduled to happen tomorrow.
On this inaugural flight, various Italian dignatories from the travel industry as well as journalists will be flown to Malta wherein they will be hosted by the Malta Tourism Authority on a fact finding mission as well as a familiarization tour of the Maltese Islands’ salient history.
Antonello Accardi, Director of Scirocco World Travel and Ray Micallef, Director and Chief Executive Officer of European 2000 Airlines signed this accord in Malta on Friday, 9th September 2005, inaugurating a two-year partnership wherein all proximate Italian destinations will progressively be made available by air travel for both the Maltese and the Sicilians.
Irma Notarnicola, the administrator of the Scirocco World Travel stated that their schedule called “Economy Business Airline” will not only offer a quality service at affordable prices but this will surely be an alternative choice to other traditional airlines.
Flights initially will originate from Trapani with Catania and Palermo to follow suite. These departure points will connect to Malta, Tunisia and Tripoli. Trapani Birgi airport will act as the main hub thus serving the local community in particular, as well as offering a quick and efficient convention to foreign transit passengers, a service also guaranteed by Giuseppe Sveglia, Airport Manager at Trapani who has welcomed this initiative between the Maltese-Sicilian partners.
“Our competitive prices will complement our clients’ demand and frequency”, said Mr. Micallef who continued to point out that international travel is expensive enough and costs can and will be kept minimal in line with the Airline’s low fare structure and operation. We have established a call centre in Trapani as well as one in our Head Office at Luqa, Malta to better serve our clients’ needs.
