Two coins for the keel of MSC Orchestra

Following in the tradition of all MSC Cruises new builds, two coins have been soldered on the inside of the keel of MSC Orchestra. The first coin was presented by the ship owner and the second by the representative of the shipyard.
Pierfrancesco Vago the Chief Executive Officer of MSC Cruises and Patrick Boissier the President of the Yard, yesterday in St Nazaire, France, in the presence of the managers of MSC Cruises, laid two coins in the middle of the keel of MSC Orchestra. This is the traditional wish for good fortune as the ship cruises the oceans of the world.
The ceremony of the two coins consolidates the business relationship and the goodwill between MSC Cruises and the Yard of Alstom Marine.
After the delivery of MSC Lirica in 2003, and MSC Opera in 2004, MSC Musica will make her debut in June 2006 and finally MSC Orchestra in 2007.
MSC Cruises continues the expansion of the fleet with a further two new vessels commissioned for delivery in 2008 and in 2009: MSC Fantasia and MSC Serenata. These two ships will be the largest ever been built for a European ship owner and the third largest in the world to date.
MSC Cruises offers a stylish, modern and competitive fleet. The on board ambience of elegance and hospitality are expressions of Italian maritime traditions that make MSC Cruises unique.
MSC Cruises has a current fleet of eight ships: MSC MUSICA sailing from July1st, 2006, MSC SINFONIA, MSC OPERA, MSC ARMONIA, MSC LIRICA, MSC MELODY, MSC RHAPSODY, MSC MONTEREY and offers itineraries in the Mediterranean all year round, in Northern Europe, Transatlantic, the Caribbean, South America and South Africa.
