Vodafone passport wins best roaming award offering great price value

In recognition for Vodafone Passport, Vodafone Group’s pricing initiative to drive usage and deliver greater value to customers, the company has been awarded ‘Best Roaming Product or Service‘ at the 2006 GSM Association Awards Ceremony held in Barcelona, Spain.
Vodafone Group have released statistics showing that to date, over 5 million customers have subscribed to Vodafone Passport, with more than 100,000 joining each week. Company research shows that these customers are both talking more and paying less, for mobile calls when abroad. Furthermore, average roaming costs per minute with Vodafone Passport have fallen by over 30% since last year.
“Vodafone Passport introduced a breakthrough roaming pricing architecture for Vodafone and its partner networks around the world, resulting in unmatched simplicity and value for customers by enabling them to keep their domestic frame of reference abroad,” said Anthony Pizzuto, Roaming and Interconnect Business Manager at Vodafone.
Vodafone Passport was launched in Malta in August of last year as the Vodafone Travel Promise, The Vodafone Travel Promise, offers Maltese roaming customers simplicity and better value for roaming services, through which they are able to call home at local rates with only a connection fee of 50 cents added per call. Vodafone customers are also able to receive calls at just 50 cents for every 10 minutes.
The Vodafone Travel Promise is available to Vodafone Malta customers roaming on the Vodafone network in Albania, Australia, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden and the UK, as well as customers roaming on SFR in France, Proximus in Belgium and Swisscom Mobile in Switzerland.
