Sky Telecom launched

Telemail, in collaboration with entrepreneurs Joe Demajo and Maurice Mizzi, yesterday unveiled the first alternative phone company operating on the existing telephone network, launching into direct competition with Maltacom.
Sky Telecom has pledged to offer smart and simple, cost-effective telephony without the need to change phones, lines or telephone numbers. The company is priding itself of being 100% Maltese-owned but owns international influence in the way it operates.
Sky Telecom said subscribers will benefit from great savings with unmatched customer service. “We have invested heavily and taken great care to ensure that our customers will save money through cost effective price plans without compromising quality or services levels. We have ensured that all facilities including premium, star services, freephone, DDI, emergency and other operator-assisted services are all available to Sky customers.
“A subscriber simply completes an application form, submits a photocopy of his or her ID card, and the last receipt of their telephone bill settlement. No additional installation, cables or equipment is required. The change is automatic and immediate and there is no service interruption at all,” the company said.
Application forms may be collected from all Maltapost branches and selected retail outlets around Malta and Gozo. Forms and further information may also be downloaded from Sky’s website www.sky.com.mt within this week. Sky Telecom application forms will be available as from Thursday, 26th October 2006.
The company said Sky was a dynamic, innovative and energetic telephone company that will drive exciting breakthroughs in the local market. “In the future we will be in a position to offer triple and quadruple bundled services,” the company said.
