Computer Solutions forms new Thin Computing strategic partnership

Computer Solutions is proud to announce that it has formed a new strategic partnership with Wyse Technology, hence expanding its portfolio by offering thin computing solutions to the local market. Wyse Technology is in fact the global leader in thin computing. Wyse and its partners deliver the hardware, infrastructure software, and services that comprise thin computing, allowing people to access the information they need using the applications they want, but with better security, manageability, and at a much lower total cost of ownership than a PC. Thin computing allows CIOs and senior IT professionals to reduce costs, manage risk, and deliver access to information.
Furthermore, this year Wyse technology has been awarded a Best New Green IT Product Award at the European Green IT Summit. The award recognises a product’s design in minimising environmental impact through reduced energy consumption, demonstrable consideration of the environment in the product’s design, and its cost effectiveness. Over the past few years, improving energy efficiency while minimising the environmental impact corporations have on global warming has become a top of mind business issue (and expense) with senior IT executives. These issues have helped propel thin computing to the forefront, as a cost effective solution which leaves a very small environmental footprint. At a very high-level, thin computing offers users the benefits of consuming less power.
Ruben Caruana and Chris Portelli - members of the Computer Solutions Business Development and Technical Solutions team respectively - have successfully completed an intensive four day certification and training program, at Wyse Training Centre in Paris, France. The course provided them both with the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully install Thin Client Technology, Wyse Device Manager Software and perform image or package updates, and create customised scripts to automate client device setup and configuration. The program also included intensive training on Wyse Thin Client hardware installations and trouble shooting. Computer Solutions is now also offering customers a viable alternative to the desktop PC, through Wyse Thin Clients, providing easy, secure and affordable access to business. Thin Computing delivers the productivity people need, at a lower cost than traditional methods, all without compromising security or manageability. Thin Computing replaces the PC with a Thin or Zero Client, making it easier for IT to manage user desktops by moving their complexity to the data centre.
