Insight Investment Achieves British Standards Institute Security Certification

Insight Investment has become the first investment management company in the UK to be awarded certification to the ‘gold standard’ in Information Security ISO/IEC27001. Certification of businesses is optional but is increasingly being recommended by the Information Commissioner’s Office and Financial Services Authority as evidence of a high level of corporate risk management.
Insight’s Information Security Management System has been certificated for the following areas: Business Continuity Management; HR Security; Communications and Operations Management; Security Policy & Organisation of Information Security; Access Control; Information Systems Acquisition, Development & Maintenance; Information Security Incident Management & Compliance; Physical & Environmental Security; Asset Management.
Work on acquiring this certification has been ongoing for the past two years. Certification lasts for three years, with independent assessments by the British Standards Institute (“BSI”) every six months to ensure standards are maintained.
Charles Farquharson, Chief Risk Officer, Insight Investment, commented: “With a number of stories of inadvertent disclosures of customer information appearing in recent times, our business partners can take comfort in knowing that we adhere to such a high BSI standard. As a badge, it says ‘we take security seriously’ and we believe that it positions Insight extremely well against many of our financial services peers.”
Insight Investment is a shareholder of Valletta Fund Management Limited and Insight Investment Management (Malta) Limited is the Sub-Investment Manager of Valletta Fund Management’s range of investment funds.
