‘The Exchange’ excavation application approved

The development permit for the excavation of the Mercury House project was unanimously approved by the MEPA board last week. The Mercury House site, now known as ‘The Exchange’, is set to become a financial and business centre which forms part of the Pender Ville development based in St. Julian’s. ‘The Exchange’ will be developed to cater for organisations operating within the financial services industry. FIMBANK plc will become the first anchor tenant within ‘The Exchange’ and will be constructing their global head quarters. Pender Ville Chairman Mr. Edmund Gatt Baldacchino stated “We are very pleased that the MEPA board unanimously approved this application.
With ‘The Exchange’ we will provide state of the art custom made offices together with retail and commercial facilities surrounded with ample public open spaces. With this permit another significant milestone has been achieved towards the realisation of a major project which will undoubtedly contribute to upgrading the heart of St. Julian’s.”
