During February 2023, the industrial producer price index registered an increase of 4.59% when compared to the corresponding month of 2022.
When compared to February 2022, the industrial producer price index increased by 4.59%. Price increases were registered in the consumer goods (9.31%), in the capital goods (9.06%) and in the intermediate goods (1.32%). No price change occurred in the energy sector.
Industrial producer prices for the domestic market increased by 3.80%. Price rises were recorded in the consumer goods (7.56%), in the intermediate goods (4.85%), and in the capital goods (2.59%).
Non-domestic prices increased by 5.12%. The prices of goods destined to the non-euro area rose by 5.56 % while those destined to the euro area increased by 4.29%.
Monthly comparison
During February 2023, the industrial producer price index increased by 0.05% when compared to January 2023. Capital goods and consumer goods increased by 2.00% and 0.21% respectively. On the other hand, intermediate goods dropped by 0.73%. There were no price changes in the energy sector.
Domestic market prices went up by 0.07% due to an increase of 0.52% in the consumer goods. On the contrary, a decline of 0.37% was registered in the intermediate goods.
Non-domestic prices increased by 0.04%. The prices of goods destined to the non-euro area rose by 0.16 % while those destined to the euro area dropped by 0.19%.
